WESTERN UNITED FC INVITES YOUR CLUB’S JUNIORS AND COACHES TO BE PART OF A PRE-MATCH PARADE
SUNDAY DECEMBER 1st – GMHBA STADIUM, GEELONG

TO ALL OUR WESTERN BASED CLUBS
excluding Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo clubs (who have their own parades)
For our first ever match against Sydney FC, which is shaping up to be a top of the table clash, we would like to extend an invitation to all junior players and coaches, from all Western based Clubs excluding Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo clubs who have their own separate parades, to participate in an exciting pre-match celebration and then watch the match as part of the Western United football family.

We would like to invite all your junior players,(Miniroos to U17’s) kitted out in your club’s gear, to participate in an “Olympic opening ceremony” type walk around the perimeter of the pitch in front of the crowd just before the commencement of the match.

The event will be accompanied by celebratory music, commentated by the ground announcer, displayed on the two big screens at the ground and broadcast live, at times on Foxtel. Each participating junior player and club coach will receive a free match ticket to participate in the march and then watch the match. The parade will be promoted in the Geelong Advertiser, on K-Rock and Bay FM radio stations and on our social media platforms in the week leading up to the match.

Each club is invited to bring along their club banners, flags , etc to showcase their club during the parade and make it an unforgettable fun event and day. This is a chance for the kids to say, “I was there from the beginning” and grow up with the Western United FC.

Noting that FFA allows banners up to 1m x 1m and flag poles must be from plastic or wood and no greater than 1.5 metres in length.

Kick-off is at the family friendly time of 4pm with the parade starting at ~3.00pm -3.15pm so all participants will be required to be at the stadium by no later than 2.30pm outside gate 5 at GMHBA stadium. Match day tickets will be handed out on arrival.

This initiative will be a way that we can proudly celebrate football in the Western region, and showcase our family to the broader sporting market, and simply let the kids have an unforgettable experience.

On behalf of the entire Club, I’m looking forward to your club being part of this important and historic day.

If your club would like to be part of this parade, then to help us with organisation please can you get back to me with an estimated number of players and coaches that will attend from your club.
